The interest in beer from the Budweiser Budvar Brewery has been rising in the long-term

Last year, Budweiser Budvar Brewery confirmed the long-term increase trend of the interest in the Budweiser Budvar and Pardál beer brands. Over the past decade, the production has increased by 39%. In 2015, the brewery brewed more than 1.6 million hectolitres of beer, which represents an annual increase of almost 10%. Traditionally, the corporation achieved very good export results, as almost 900,000 hectolitres of beer travelled to 76 countries, which is 10.5% more year-on-year. The domestic market sales increased by 9%, surpassing a volume of 700,000 hectolitres of beer. Last year’s receipts of the corporation rose by 8% year-on-year, exceeding a value of CZK 2,550 million.

“Last year's results constituted a dignified crowning of the 120th anniversary of the brewery’s founding. We are well pleased with the high increase at home as well as with the constantly growing export. We sold historically the highest volumes of beer in our most important export markets - Germany and the Slovak Republic. We achieved a double-digit rise in prestigious markets in Italy, Canada and Sweden. We managed to enter several new countries, such as Benin, Mali and the Ivory Coast. As expected, we failed to do very well in Russia and Ukraine; nonetheless, we managed to eliminate these declines in other countries,” says Budweiser Budvar’s business manager Robert Chrt. The high quality of the beer, based on the craft production processes as well as the hard work of the brewery’s salesmen and all the other employees were instrumental in last year's results.

Considering the ever growing results in the long-term, investment into expanding the logistics and production capacities is essential for the brewery’s further development. Last year, the brewery's management discussed the concept of the corporation’s development for 2020 with prospective to 2030 with the Ministry of Agriculture - the corporation’s founder. The implementation of this concept was launched last year. This year, the development plan will continue with the construction of modern logistics premises in České Budějovice, which will become the biggest investment in the past 10 years.
