Saturday’s Open Day in Budvar will commemorate the 116th anniversary of founding Budweiser Budvar Brewery

“A total of 16 bands are going to perform on two stages this year, supplemented by a disco as well. The Open Day in Budvar ranks amongst this year’s largest events in the Region of South Bohemia. 1,200 sitting places will be available for visitors,” says Budweiser Budvar’s promotional events manager Petr Klein. In case of poor weather, the roofed main stage can shelter up to 2,000 people.  

This year, we are going to concentrate more on responsible alcohol consumption and safety. “We are going to do an age check of all visitors directly at the entrance. The over-eighteens will get an identification band, which they will show at any beer stand, as we want to make sure that no alcohol is sold to the underage. Furthermore, bringing dangerous objects and own alcohol beverages to the event will be banned.” adds Petr Klein.

Besides the entertaining programme, visitors can view the brewing area of the brewery as well as the multimedia exposition “The Tale of the Beer from Budweis”, which will take place every 20 minutes from 10 am until 5.40 pm and is free. The visitors will also have a chance to make a design on an original Pardál T-shirt, tattoo their body with henna or get their caricature made by a professional caricaturist.  

Refreshments along with soft drinks will be available in the premises for the whole day, so will be the entire range of Budweiser Budvar products in 30 tap stands, non-pasteurised Budweiser Budvar Premium Lager in particular. To get to the brewery, the “Budvarbus” can be used free on every hour on the route “Train station - Mariánské náměstí square - Budvar and back”. The first bus leaves at 9.30 a.m. from the train station and the last one at 5 pm from Budvar.
