Budweiser Budvar’s Visitor Centre has prepared an attractive offer for the tourists. Until the 20th March, the visitors of the multimedia exposition “The story of the beer from Budweis” can take part in the brewery’s tour free; provided that they are over 18, they can also savour non-pasteurised and unfiltered Budweiser Budvar Premium Lager directly in the lager cellar. The special offer is effective every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until the 20th March. Furthermore, if the visitor attends a second tour with friends (a group of minimum 4 persons), he or she will automatically get a 5-litre keg of Budweiser Budvar Premium Lager. They can then together enjoy delicious beer with a pleasant hop aroma and mild bitterness, whose quality is appreciated by consumers worldwide.
“We have prepared this special offer particularly for the upcoming days before the spring starts, as the weather might not yet be suitable for walks in the countryside. We believe that our visitors will not only learn something about the brewing of our original lager, but also have a good time in our brewery,” explains Budweiser Budvar’s PR manager Petr Samec. Nearly 40,000 tourists visited the brewery last year, thus ranking Budweiser Budvar amongst the most attractive tourist destinations in south Bohemia.
The multimedia exposition “The story of the beer from Budweis” outlines in a comprehensible and entertaining way the history of brewing in České Budějovice. Through the most modern technologies, the visitors can learn about the brewing secrets of Budweiser Budvar Premium Lager, which lies particularly in using top-quality raw materials (Moravian barley, Žatec hops and first-rate brewing yeast). The brewery use of water drawn from its own artesian wells more than 300 metres deep is presented in an imaginative way of a “virtual trip”. The exposition was opened in 2005 on the occasion of the brewery’s 110th anniversary of its origination.
Budweiser Budvar’s Visitor Centre provides full tourist services ranging from the tours of the brewing premises, the multimedia exposition to tasting non-pasteurised and unfiltered Budweiser Budvar Premium Lager directly in the lager cellar (for the over 18 visitors) as well as gastronomic services in the Budvar restaurant in the brewery’s premises or in the Masné krámy restaurant. Besides Czech, the tour’s commentary can be provided in six world languages upon order.
During the main season (1.4. - 31.12.), the Visitor Centre is open every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. whereas off-season (1.1. - 31.3.), the opening days exclude Sunday and Monday. The tours are available upon a previous mail or telephone order. Every working day (in the summer as well as at weekends) at 2 p.m. people can take part in a tour even without any previous booking.
