Using two cranes, over the last 2 days Budweiser Budvar, N.C. installed 10 new pressure tanks produced by the German company of Ziemann. These tanks are used as reservoirs of the finished beer just prior to its bottling, or filling in cans or kegs. The tanks are made of stainless steel, having a diameter of 3.6 m, height of 14 m and weight of 8 tons. Each tank can hold 1,000 hectolitres of beer. The investment has doubled the capacity of the existing brewery’s department of pressure tanks onto 20,000 hectolitres.
“Last year, we achieved the highest beer production in the brewery's history and are drawing closer to the upper limit of the production and logistics capacity of the corporation. Since we would like to continue increasing the sales volumes, we must continue to strengthen the production capacity as well. The pressure tanks represent a key investment that will allow satisfying the growing demand especially for beer in bottles,” says Budweiser Budvar’s brewmaster Adam Brož, Ph.D., MBA. Last year, the brewery increased its beer sales year-on-year by 2.5% onto 1.457 million hectolitres. The demand for bottled beer from Budweiser Budvar has been substantially growing in recent years, increasing by 29% within five years. This trend is going continue in the future.
The total value of the investment exceeds CZK 70 mil., the supplier of the construction being Porr, joint-stock company, the general supplier of the technological part being ProjektSoft HK, joint-stock company Hradec Králové.
