It all started
back in 2023...
We are Budvar — the national brewery — and our mission is to spread the joy of Czech beer around the world. And that’s exactly what we do: we brew Czech lager with outstanding breweries across the globe, often using local ingredients, but always following traditional Czech methods and techniques, no matter where we are.
One of those lagers was brewed in Copenhagen with Mikkeller. And from that collaboration came not only the excellent #YearOfTheLager, but also a friendship that continues to this day.
Mikkeller even added #YearOfTheLager to its permanent lineup.
It was time to
switch roles...
Because even though we Czechs know exactly how a proper lager should taste, beer isn’t only about lager, right?
Twogether Forever may be a limited edition for this summer, but we didn’t want you to miss out on beers from this great brewery. So we’ve added another gem to our permanent distribution – ORGANIC HOP SHOP IPA.
You can find it on tap in selected pubs all year round. Cheers!

Today, Mikkeller exports to more than 40 countries and is known as a young craft brewery keen to experiment. They add unconventional ingredients to their beers — from yuzu and chili to coffee or chocolate. Every beer is different, but always worth trying.
