Budweiser Budvar B:DARK
The premium dark lager has complemented Budweiser Budvar Brewery’s traditional product range. It is brewed in the same way as the premium pale lager, using first-class Saaz hops, Moravian malt, water drawn from 300-metre deep artesian wells and three types of special colour malted barley: Munich, caramel and roasted.
The beer is characterised by a distinctly dark colour, a dry and mildly bitter caramel flavour without any dominant sweetness and a delicious aroma of roasted malt.

Budweiser Budvar B:SPECIAL
The initial brewing process with Krausened Lager is the same as with Budweiser Budvar premium lager. The difference lies in the fact that a certain amount of “rings” is added into the ready-to-consume beer, supplying the beer with a new culture of brewing yeast at its best condition plus another share of the extract. In the transportation packaging (KEG barrels) further fermentation takes place, providing the beer with different sensory and biological qualities distinct from the traditional lager. The tang is stronger or even strong, which favourably affects its fresher and more refreshing flavour. Beer experts will certainly distinguish a slight yeast flavour and aroma. The head is firmer, compact and more stable. The colour of the beer is golden yellow and the presence of yeast results in the beer being not sparkly but clear or slightly opalescent.

Budweiser Budvar Cvikl
Non-filtered Yeast Draught Beer
Sipping non-filtered beer directly from the cellar has ranked amongst brewing traditions since time immemorial. All you had to do was pull out a beech wedge (called “cvikl” in Czech) from the barrel and the fresh drink poured out. That is where our non-filtered beer got its name Cvikl from as well as an extra ration of yeast.
Every beer tastes its best while still in the brewery’s cellars, as it is not affected by heat, light, movement or oxygen. Such a fresh and full flavour with mildly higher bitterness can be accomplished by keeping the yeast in the beer, which also causes the characteristic matt haze of the non-filtered beer.
