However, only the spectators in České Budějovice will have the chance to see a bike exhibition on a U-ramp as well as the elite of Czech skating. Since the organisers anticipate a considerable interest from fans from all over the Czech Republic and abroad, on 30th April selected express trains from Prague are going to exceptionally stop at the North Station in České Budějovice too, which is right next to the brewery. Refreshments will be provided in the premises of the Budvar Fest festival.

“Lately, the Budweiser Budvar brand has been supporting particularly miscellaneous alternative styles and the non-mainstream culture in general. Therefore we say NO to mainstream and NO to mass entertainment for everyone. This year, Budvar Fest is going to provide extraordinarily interesting musical experiences, which cannot be commonly seen in our country,” says Budweiser Budvar brand manager, Aleš Eder.

The iconic Norwegian death punk band of Turbonegro is coming to České Budějovice to introduce their new singer as well as their latest album Sexual Harassment. After four years, Turbonegro, known particularly for their brilliant mixture of hardcore, metal, punk and glam rock as well as their typical decadent image and spontaneous stage show, will present themselves to the Czech audience in a new line-up. They will be completed by e.g. the Californian punk rock band of Strung Out, hardcore Title Fight from Pennsylvania, Sonic Boom Six from Britain and The Crimson Ghosts from Germany.

The event is free of charge for the visitors who turn up before 6 p.m. After 6 p.m., the entrance fee is CZK 1,000. Updated information and news will gradually appear on Facebook Budweiser Budvar.

About the bands
Turbonegro

The decadent death punk band of Turbonegro was founded in the Norwegian capital of Oslo in 1989.   They opted for the easily remembered image in response to the growing Scandinavian black metal scene, from which they wanted to differ. In their music making they avow punk rock and rock greats such as Black Flag, Ramones, Bad Brains, The Stooges, Kiss and Alice Cooper. Altogether they have made nine albums; however their career was basically launched by their fourth album called “Ass Cobra“. That was followed by the excellent “Apocalypse Dudes“, “Scandinavian Leather“, “Party Animals“ and “Retox“. The band has created possibly the most radical fan base in the world – Turbojugend, which is willing to follow the band almost everywhere, naturally dressed accordingly to an appropriate dress code. In 2012, the band was abandoned by the singer Hank Von Helvete, who was replaced by also charismatic Tony Sylvester aka The Duke of Nothing. In 2012, the band had a comeback to the stage with their album “Sexual Harassment“.

Strung Out
The Californian punk rock group of Strung Out was founded in 1989. The band’s seven albums came out through the prestigious record label of the front man of the group NOFX, Fat Mike – Fat Wreck Chords. Not only due to that, Strung Out are considered legends by their fans today. Technical, aggressive and sufficiently tuneful Strung Out grew up on the foundations of the Californian musical skate-punk scene, soon crossing over the borders of the state and continent. The broad awareness about them came about owing to their 1998 album “Twisted by Design“, which was full speed and tuneful hits. A number of excellent albums with similar spirit followed. Their production showed gradually signs of metal. Their last album so far named “Agents of the Underground” came out in 2009.

Title Fight
The Pennsylvanian hardcore band of Title Fight was founded in 2003. The group combines the elements of punk rock, melodic hardcore, pop and Emo in a similar way like their older colleagues Jawbreaker, Kid Dynamite and Lifetime. Nonetheless, they also get inspired by more known bands of Saves The Day or Seaweed. Title Fight make their records at the prestigious record label of SideOneDummy Records, where you can also find e.g. Flogging Molly, Gogol Bordello or Anti-Flag. Their last album called “Floral Green“ came out in 2012.
