Export activities

Budweiser Budvar is one of the most successful Czech export food producing companies. Each sixth exported half-litre of beer from the Czech Republic originates from the Budweiser Budvar brewery.

Budweiser Budvar began to export original lager almost immediately after its foundation. First of all into neighbouring countries and in the beginning of the last century it started its export activities to overseas countries.

Today Budweiser Budvar exports its lager into more than 50 countries across all continents. Some of its largest markets are in Germany, Great Britain, Slovak Republic, Austria, Switzerland, USA, Italy, Hungary and Ireland.

In 2002 Budweiser Budvar managed to enter, after 62 years, the market in the USA and Canada where, due to trademark legal disputes with the American company Anheuser-Busch it exports its original premium lager under the brand name of Czechvar.

Germany

On the German market Budweiser Budvar is the second best sold brand among imported lagers. In 2004 it established a 100% subsidiary company Budweiser Budvar. Importgesellschaft mbH with a registered office in Erfurt.

Great Britain

In Great Britain Budweiser Budvar is a long term best selling Czech lager and its popularity has an increasing tendency. In 2001 in Great Britain the company Budweiser Budvar UK Limited began its activity with the registered office in London in which Budweiser Budvar has 100% ownership.

Austria

Budweiser Budvar Czech Premium Lager ranks first amongst all imported beers on the Austrian market.  The Kolarik & Leeb Company (formerly Kolarik & Buben) has been importing this lager since as early as 1924. (www.budweiser.at)
