Awards
During its existence, the Budějovický Budvar brewery has received many awards from consumers as well as brewing specialists in the Czech Republic and abroad. One of the most precious awards includes the first gold medal from the World Exhibition in Prague in 1896. It also won a hattrick, three times two gold medals for Budweiser Budvar lager and the Bud Premier Select special beer in the Monde Selections quality contest in 1999, 2000 and 2001.
Domestic awards include six Beer of the Year titles (1996, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004), given to the Budweiser Budvar lager from the specialized beer magazine Pivní kurýr.
