The Masné Krámy restaurant will offer the original ‘halusky’ which became the winner in last year’s popular “Halusky Competition”

Last December marked the 3rd anniversary from reopening the Masné Krámy restaurant following its total reconstruction and modernization. This perhaps best-known restaurant in České Budějovice successfully followed up its famous history and rejoined the favourite places where Budějovice citizens as well as visitors meet. The restaurant is famous primarily due to its perfectly treated Budweiser Budvar Krausened Lager, which is drawn exclusively here directly from beer tanks. A wide range of traditional Czech meals as well as international specialties supervised by chef Luděk Hauser is also a big attraction for guests. The Masné Krámy restaurant also provides its guests with numerous thematic gastronomic events.

 The Slovakian Cuisine Days will be one of this year’s events, taking place from 21st to 27th February. “The guests will find many Slovakian specialties in our next week’s menu, such as cabbage soup, halusky with sheep cheese and roast lamb. Besides that, visitors will also be provided with musical and dance program by the Slovakian group LIPA,” says the Masné Krámy restaurant’s chef Luděk Hauser. The group will perform in the Masné Krámy restaurant on the 24th and 25th February from 7p.m. till 11p.m. and on Saturday 26th February from 11a.m. till 2p.m. The complete menu for the Slovakian Cuisine Days can be found in the appendix.
 
 The highlight of the Slovakian cuisine offer in the Masné Krámy restaurant will be the unique “Grilled lamb chop and Butcher’s halusky with browned onion”, which became the winner of the popular “Halusky Competition” last year. “I created the winning recipe for the Butcher’s halusky myself. The success is based on naturally good-quality halusky, which are prepared in Budvar restaurant’s kitchen using honest natural ingredients without the presence of semi-products or artificial ingredients,” says the two-time winner of the “Halusky competition” Luděk Hauser. The Butcher’s halusky are flavoured with smoked cheese, bacon and herbs as well as smoothed with cream. A part of the halusky is coloured with beetroot. The meal is decorated with baked garlic, which goes very well with lamb chops baked until pink.

 The Masné Krámy restaurant ranks with its 190 sitting places amongst the largest restaurants in České Budějovice. The restaurant is open daily; the opening hours are Mon - Thu 10.30a.m. - 11p.m., Fri - Sat 10.30a.m. - midnight, Sun 10.30a.m. - 9p.m. Detailed information about the Masné krámy restaurant including the menu and the list of individual gastronomic events can be found at www.masne-kramy.cz.
