Budweiser Budvar, N.C. continued in its inclination to increasing beer sales also in 2007. Whereas the brewery’s 2006 sales reached 1,152,000 hectolitres of beer (5% more than in 2005), Budweiser Budvar sold 1,253,159 hectolitres of beer in 2007. This result represents an annual production increase by 8.7% while the overall production of Czech breweries increased by about 1%, having accomplished the volume of 20 million hectolitres.
“We particularly appreciate the results in the domestic market, since our sales increase in the Czech Republic is much higher than the rise of the Czech consumption was,” says Budweiser Budvar’s business manager Robert Chrt. Budweiser Budvar sold 666,159 hectolitres of beer in the domestic market, which represents an 11.5% increase from 2006. The domestic sale increase was substantially contributed by the new brand of pale draught beer “Pardál“, which was sold from 1st March 2007 in the area of Southern Bohemia. The “Pardál“beer enjoyed extraordinary attention by customers and its sales results surpassed the original anticipation several-fold. The beer is going to be sold throughout the Czech Republic in 2008.

Budweiser Budvar also accomplished excellent results abroad, having exported the most beer in its 112-year history. The export to 53 countries reached 587,000 hectolitres of beer, for the most part Budweiser Budvar Pale Lager. The annual export increase amounted to 5.8% which is double the overall Czech export increase.

“We consider the record-breaking volume of the exported beer a great success. Most of our sales take place within the EU countries, where beer consumption has been mostly stagnating or falling. Additionally, we do not under cut the price and our beer belongs amongst the most expensive beer brands of imported premium lagers in all of those countries,” adds Robert Chrt. In 2007, Budweiser Budvar lager was exported to South
