The forthcoming season will yet again see Budweiser Budvar as the official beer of the Czech ice-hockey
Budweiser Budvar, N.C. is again going to be one of the key partners of the ice-hockey major league in the forthcoming season. Ice-hockey is the main sport for the brewery; it has been playing a large part for the communication of the Budweiser Budvar trademark since 2003. Budweiser Budvar is therefore going to accompany fans during the matches of their favourite teams within the ice-jockey major league as well as throughout the matches of the Czech national ice-hockey team. The Budweiser Budvar trademark is again going to carry the titles “Official Beer of the Ice-Hockey Major League” and the “Official Beer of Czech Ice-Hockey”.
“The partnership with Czech ice-hockey is of key importance to our marketing, as it provides us with the chance to build up the image of the Budweiser Budvar trademark in connection with one of the most favoured Czech sports,” says Budweiser Budvar brand manager Tomáš Chalupský. “Visiting an ice-hockey match has become a social event. Spectators can now experience the excitement, thrill and pleasure in a comfortable environment, which is enjoyable for the whole family. An ice-hockey match provides its fans with a very attractive opportunity to spend their free time and naturally, our beer cannot be absent,” adds Budweiser Budvar’s PR manager Petr Samec.
Besides its beer on hand directly at the ice-hockey stadium, Budweiser Budvar is planning other various marketing activities connected with ice-hockey for the approaching season, such as special ice-hockey multi-packs, special ice-hockey restaurants so called “Budvar Arenas” and closely related Table Ice-Hockey Budvar Cup with its climax in the nationwide major tournament. Budvar Arenas are specially adapted areas in selected restaurants within the whole of the Czech Republic. Each Budvar Arena has a table ice-hockey table; the floor under the table is in the ice-hockey surface style and the feeling is boosted by stylish decorative walls. Budvar arenas can be found e.g. in Brno, České Budějovice, Pilsen, Prague as well as in many smaller towns such as Frenštát pod Radhoštěm, Soběslav, Třebíč etc.
“We are going to continue with the activities proven in the past; furthermore we would like to launch a completely new project called BudvarBaby,” adds Tomáš Chalupský. The BudvarBaby will be launched at the beginning of November at all ice-jockey major league stadiums, with special internet website being a part of it. More details on the mentioned project will be made public at the end of October.
