Budweiser Budvar awarded in the area of gastronomy
Besides brewing and sale of beer, Budweiser Budvar N.C. has been developing its tourist and gastronomic services, the latter being awarded several times recently. Brewery tours invoked a great interest amongst tourists. In the first 11 months of this year, 40.833 visitors took part in the tours, which is comparable to the visitor rate of Zvíkov or Třeboň castles. The multimedia exposition was viewed by 3,523 people.
The visitor centre, “Malý pivovar” hotel, Masné krámy restaurant and Budvar Pub fall within Budweiser Budvar’s Gastro Department, which is responsible for the brewery’s tourist services. “These days, we have been able to offer a full tourist service to the visitors via special deals, which besides brewery tours include gastronomy of great quality as well as accommodation. Therefore, we have paid attention to participating at tourist trade fairs and quality contests. We value the gained awards very much,” says Budweiser Budvar’s Gastro Department manager Antonín Janský.
Budweiser Budvar’s Gastro Department has received several awards this year. In October, the Masné krámy restaurant was awarded the “Satisfied South Bohemian Customer” certificate from the Czech Consumer Association, the “Malý pivovar” hotel came second in the “gastronomic exposition” category at the recent international exhibition Gastrofest in České Budějovice. The exposition was arranged as Budweiser Budvar’s presentation; its part was a special long banquet table called “Christmas at the Malý pivovar hotel’s Budvarka restaurant”. Moreover, Budweiser Budvar’s Gastro Department manager Antonín Janský received the “Gastrofest 2008 Director’s Prize” for this year’s cooperation. Besides Gastrofest, České Budějovice saw the trade fair of tourist experiences, possibilities and visions - the so-called Southern Bohemian Compass.
