Budweiser Budvar is successfully conquering the Cuban market
Despite Cuba being a relatively new export territory for Budweiser Budvar, this year's volume of beer sold there has increased fifteen times year-on-year. Such a result is very valuable as Cuba is the only country on the American continent where the Budweiser Budvar brand name can be used. Moreover, this is a very complicated market as far as administration is concerned. The premium Budvar lager has also been successful in other Latin American countries. Currently, Budweiser Budvar beer is exported to 13 countries in this area. In addition, export to exotic Bermuda is going to begin soon.
A ceremonial opening of Budweiser Budvar’s new logistics centre took place today
This morning Budweiser Budvar opened a new logistics centre in a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony undertaken by the Minister of Agriculture Miroslav Toman, CSc., the Mayor of České Budějovice Jiří Svoboda and Budweiser Budvar’s Managing Director Petr Dvořák. A fully automated 19,000-pallet racking system storehouse will greatly increase the brewery’s logistics performance. The logistics complex worth CZK 750 million constitutes an important stage in the brewery development plan that was launched in 2015. In the near future, a new section of the lager cellar will be put in operation, followed by other important buildings: a building for a third bottle-filling room, a new section of the fermentation room and a new brewing room. After the completion of the investment totalling around CZK 2,000 million the annual production of the brewery will increase to 2 million hectolitres.
Monsignor Vlastimil Kročil, Bishop of České Budějovice, blessed a special batch of beer in Budweiser Budvar Brewery today
This afternoon, the Bishop of České Budějovice Monsignor Vlastimil Kročil, gave a benediction to a special batch of beer, making it already a second batch in the modern history of the brewery having received such a blessing. This year's “Blessed Beer” had been primarily brewed for charity purposes. During the Advent Market on České Budějovice Square, “Blessed Beer” will be drawn by volunteers. The proceeds from the sale are intended for the Diocesan Charity of České Budějovice. Part of the “Blessed Beer” in hand-packed bottles should once again travel to the Vatican as a gift to the Holy Father, Pope Francis.
