Yesterday, European beer stars were presented at a major brewing fair BrauBeviale in Nuremberg, e.g. beers assessed by experts in the “European Beer Star” international competition. Pardál Echt Pale Lager from Budweiser Budvar Brewery was awarded a bronze medal in the Bohemian-Style Pilsner category. It is the third medal for Pardál Echt in international competitions, the biggest achievement so far undoubtedly being the bronze medal from the world's biggest competition “World Beer Cup 2014”.

The Masné krámy restaurant’s head chef Luděk Hauser and his team have prepared “St. Martin Feast” for this week. Golden roast geese from South Bohemian Byňov along with foie gras and other delicacies are going to be on the restaurant’s menu until Sunday. The food will be supplemented by dark lager with sour cherry and special beer B:CRYO.

This year, Budweiser Budvar, N.C. is commemorating the 120th anniversary of its founding. The first batch of the original beer - a mere 200 hectolitres - was brewed by the first brewing master Antonín Holeček on 7th October 1895. Budvar’s historically tenth brewing master Adam Brož brewed a limited edition of unfiltered yeast lager on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the first batch of beer. The anniversary lager is available at several hundreds of selected restaurants throughout the country. Tomorrow, their guests will be able to recall this important anniversary at Budweiser Budvar’s expense, as the brewery is going to give away 120 large beers in each of the restaurants.

Last year, Budweiser Budvar increased its beer sales by 2.5% onto 1.457 million hectolitres, drawing near to the upper limit of its production and logistics capacity. Since the brewery expects a further increase in sales in the future, it must strengthen its manufacturing base. This week one of the key investments in this area has been carried out, i.e. the installation of 10 pressure tanks, which serve as reservoirs of the finished beer just prior to its bottling or filling in cans or kegs. The new pressure tanks are mainly going to help increase the performance of bottle filling rooms, which is necessary as the demand for beer in bottles has increased by 29% over the last five years and the current capacity of the bottle filling rooms is no longer sufficient.

In October, 120 years will have passed since the first batch of beer was brewed in Budweiser Budvar, N.C. Such an important anniversary is being commemorated by several limited editions and other events for the public. The celebrations are going to culminate this Saturday with the traditional “Open Day in Budvar” with a top-quality musical programme as well as drawn “Anniversary Special”.

On Wednesday, two batches of seasonal beer were brewed in the Budweiser Budvar Brewery’s brewing house using fresh cones of Saaz “Žatecký poloraný červeňák” hops harvested only several hours before on the “Splav” hop field in the cadastre of the hop-growing municipality of Blšany. The seasonal beer from fresh hops has been regularly brewed in the Budweiser Budvar during the hop harvest period since 2012. Having an extraordinary long maturing period, 16°beer BUD B:STRONG from fresh hops can be savoured in selected restaurants in the Czech Republic as well as in several other countries in the second half of March 2016.

This year, Budweiser Budvar, N.C. is commemorating the 120th anniversary of its founding. The first batch of the original beer - a mere 200 hectolitres - was brewed by the brewing master Antonín Holeček on 7th October 1895. On the occasion of the celebrations of such an important anniversary several limited editions have occurred on the market already. Furthermore, the brewery prepared some cultural events for the public as well, one of them being theatrical evening tours in historical costumes that use acting to take the visitors realistically to the times of the brewery’s founding and other key points in its history.

Budweiser Budvar has just completed a full reconstruction of its bottling room building in Prague St. in České Budějovice. The bottling room building of 1972 was originally designed for the capacity of 40,000 bottles per hour. After extensive investment into the manufacturing facilities and technical background of the bottling room in the recent years, the current capacity of the bottling lines now accomplishes about 80,000 bottles per hour. However, the building itself has ceased to meet today's needs of the brewery for many reasons.
