Pale lager CZECHVAR from Budweiser Budvar Brewery was awarded a gold medal in the USA

Pale lager from Budweiser Budvar won another gold medal in an international competition. 1,000 beer samples in 97 categories were registered in this year’s 16th “Los Angeles International Beer Competition”. More than 100 certified beer tasters, brewing masters and managers from the American brewing industry sat in specialized panels.

Burgers and asparagus specialties in the Masné krámy restaurant

This year's small motorcycles race called the Fichtl Cup Series will continue in Adamov near České Budějovice this Saturday, with the Pardál team newly appearing on the starting list. Its number one - Šneg, is going to try to get the first points in the series on Jawa 21 Sport in the category of “Stodolák”, or at least improve the 22nd place from its premiere in Vlkovice. The race on the off-road circuit around Hůrský pond starts at 12:00.

Budweiser Budvar is launching a fourth variety of Somersby cider on the market

Budweiser Budvar is launching the already fourth flavour of the Danish brand cider Somersby on the Czech market of refreshing alcoholic beverages. The newcomer has the flavour of elderflower and lime and will be marketed in 0.33-litre cans. It will be particularly appreciated by consumers who like to experiment. The time-limited supply for this summer’s season will be available across the country in retail stores, at selected gastronomic facilities as well as during music festivals.

Trout and ramsons will be savoured in the Masné krámy restaurant

Fresh trout and brook trout from the Šumava mountain range as well as specialties from ramsons are going to appear on the tables of the Masné krámy restaurant in České Budějovice from Thursday 21st April. The fish bred in the Spůlka rivulet are going to be supplied by the Trout Farm Mlýny from Žár by Vacov.

Jiří Boček, Budweiser Budvar Brewery’s managing director has received the Czech and Moravian Beer Academy’s Annual Award for 2015

Yesterday, the Czech and Moravian Beer Academy awarded the 2015 annual prizes in a total of 17 categories. Budweiser Budvar, N.C.’s managing director Jiří Boček was awarded in the category of “breweries with annual sales over 500,000 hectolitres”.

Special theatrical tours of the brewery in historical costumes are going to take place again in April

Responding to strong demand, Budweiser Budvar’s Visitor Centre is going to repeat its special theatrical tours of the brewery this year again with actors dressed in historical costumes in the roles of tour guides. Through acting they will transfer visitors to the times of the brewery’s founding and other key points in its history. During April, only four tours will be held - every Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. The tickets for the price of CZK 200 must be booked in advance.

Budweiser Budvar has launched another introduction on the market - “JUST DRAWN LAGER”

Budweiser Budvar has just expanded its product portfolio with a very interesting and unusual novelty intended for customers seeking local fresh foodstuffs. The new product will be sold under the name of JUST DRAWN LAGER in 0.5-litre bottles. It is non-pasteurized pale lager Budweiser Budvar B: ORIGINAL, the bottles of which are taken off the production line just past the bottle filler, not undergoing pasteurization and labelling. The bottle is hand-labelled with an atypical tag and quickly transported to a shop. Owing to the requirements for a speedy delivery, the JUST DRAWN LAGER is only going to be sold in České Budejovice. The shelf-life of this beer is 10 days, if stored in the dark and at a temperature below 10 °C.

Budweiser Budvar has been successfully using non-returnable beer kegs for 5 years

This week, five years has passed since Budweiser Budvar launched beer in non-returnable KeyKeg barrels on the market. The radical technological innovation has proved to be a useful tool for developing global export. Budweiser Budvar has used the non-returnable kegs in countries where the secondary transport of common barrels to particular restaurants and back is either expensive or complicated - for example in Russia, Australia and Brazil. During five years, the volume of beer supplied in non-returnable kegs has tripled the number of export countries increasing from five to 17.
